I’m a queer, Chinese Canadian, cisgender woman who is passionate about providing a safe and affirming space to ensure my clients are heard and accepted as their true selves.
For me, this passion started as a kid, when I dreamed about saving people as a Superhero! But, as I grew into the helping profession, this perspective transformed into wanting to help others to save themselves. I believe that everyone has the inner abilities to nourish their own growth and together, we can uncover and optimize these abilities while holding space for healing.
I received my Bachelor of Arts, Double Major Degree in Psychology and Sexuality Studies at Western University and went on to earn my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I fulfilled my Practicum experience locally at Family Services Thames Valley, where I continue to be a Facilitator for their Coming Out Over Coffee support group for our Rainbow Community.
My professional experience is twofold -much of this experience is around supporting our Rainbow Community while also having extensive professional experience providing support and counselling over technology-based platforms and phone-based services. Through these experiences, outgrew a passion for text-based support. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to offer two types of text-based counselling (email and instant messaging), allowing you more choice in how you express yourself and for some, a new type of counselling experience.
My hope is together, we will journey through an exploratory and empowering process towards achieving your goals and gaining the strength and courage for you to be you.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little more.
I have never met a heavy heart that wasn't a phone booth with a red cape inside
Some people will never understand the kind of superpower it takes for some people to just walk outside
Some days I know my smile looks like the gutter of a falling house
But my hands are always holding tight to the ripchord of believing
